Media Statement – September 28, 2024

In response to a recent news publication, it is essential to highlight that the City of Orting’s water system, like all municipal water systems in Washington State, is regulated by the Safe Drinking Water Act through the Washington State Department of Health Office of Drinking Water as well as other regulatory agencies and undergoes required and regular independent testing to ensure the safety of our drinking water. In response to concerns raised about frequent lagoon overflowing, those reports are false. The Mayor, City Council and many staff members live in the City of Orting and drink the water daily, along with our children and grandchildren.
