NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Orting Planning Commission will be holding a Public Hearing on February 5th, 2024, at 7pm, at City Hall, 104 Bridge St. S. in Orting, WA.
The purpose of the public hearing will be to receive public testimony and forward a recommendation to City Council regarding the proposed amendments to the SEPA Environmental Review procedures in OMC Chapter 15-14.
The proposed amendments include updates to the categorical exemptions for minor new construction, revisions to the review process to include the Optional Determination of Significance, and minor text changes throughout the chapter to clarify the regulations and ensure adherence to existing and updated state laws. The proposed amendments also include the addition of OMC 10-16-5: Inadvertent Discovery of Human Skeletal Remains, to provide adequate protections for cultural and historic resources when exemption levels are raised.
