🚶‍♀️Bridge for Kids Project Update🌉

The Bridge for Kids project is in the home stretch!

✅ Trail restoration paving is complete.

🔨 Installation of the first shipment of stair handrails is underway, with the remaining handrails expected to arrive soon.

The handrail installation is taking longer than anticipated because each section must be inspected and approved by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) before it can be installed. While this adds a bit of time to the schedule, it ensures the bridge meets all required safety standards.

 Once the handrails are installed, crews will remove the temporary crosswalk at Lane Boulevard, which will result in minor traffic impacts.

 We're expecting the bridge to be completed and open to the public sometime in late September, and we'll announce a ribbon-cutting celebration as soon as the final construction schedule is confirmed.
