From Orting Alerts

THIS IS AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM ORTING ALERTS REGARDING HEAT - A HEAT ADVISORY has been issued by the National Weather Service for western Washington until 11pm July 22nd. Extremely dangerous heat conditions are likely, possibly leading to heat related illness, such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke. AVOID ANY PROLONGED outdoor physical activity during the hottest part of the day. AVOID direct sun exposure or make sure you take breaks in the shade. DRINK plenty of fluids to stay hydrated and provide water and shade to pets. DO NOT leave pets or children unattended in motor vehicles. A cooling center will be open in Orting from 1pm – 7pm at the Orting Multipurpose Center located adjacent to the Orting Library. Issued by the City of Orting Department of Emergency Management.
