Subject: NOTICE OF NIGHTTIME CONSTRUCTION WORK

 Dear Community Members,

The City of Orting would like to notify residents of upcoming nighttime construction work associated with the Kansas Street Improvement Project.

Date: Thursday, July 9
Work Hours: 9:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.

Contractor will be installing a new section of the storm drainage system.  Although the work will be concentrated at the Kansas Street and Calistoga Street intersection, equipment will be traveling throughout Kansas Street.

This work is being scheduled overnight to help with required power outage (notification to residents will be completed by PSE), reduce impacts on daytime traffic, improve worker safety, and allow the work to be completed as efficiently as possible. Residents near the project area can expect construction equipment, backup alarms, and other intermittent construction-related noise during these hours.

The City understands that nighttime work can be an inconvenience and appreciates your patience while these necessary infrastructure improvements are completed.

Pursuant to Chapter 5-8 (Noise Control) of the Orting Municipal Code, certain public works and utility activities may be conducted outside normal hours when necessary to protect the public health, safety, safety, welfare, or to complete essential utility improvements. Advance notice is being provided to keep nearby residents informed of the scheduled work.

We apologize for the temporary inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation as we continue to improve the City's infrastructure.
