CUSTOMER FRAUD ALERT
The Orting Police Department has been made aware of a recent fraud attempt targeting vendors.
Several customers have reported receiving fraudulent invoices from a malicious actor posing as the City of Orting who is requesting payment via electronic bank transfer.
Important Reminder:
The City of Orting will NEVER request payment via electronic bank transfer.
If you receive an invoice requesting payment through electronic bank transfer:
- DO NOT process the payment
- Treat the request as suspicious
- Contact the Police Department and the City immediately
