City Departments

Building Department:

The Building Department handles all building permit applications.

Floodplain information and stormwater permit compliance information are also available.

City Administrator:

The City Administrator's office is a link between the Mayor, City Council, staff and citizens. The Mayor delegates to the City Administrator as Chief Administrative Officer responsibility for the management of the day to day operations.

Economic Development, Planning and Land Use Services are also conducted by the City Administrator.

Code Enforcement:

The Code Compliance Officer responds to violations of the Orting Municipal Code.

Court:

The Orting Municipal Court is a Court of Limited Jurisdiction which hears criminal misdemeanors and gross misdemeanors, infractions, parking violations that occur in the City of Orting.

Finance Department:

The Finance Department is responsible for oversight of the budget process, managing the City's investments, city-wide financial accounting, and utility billing.

Parks and Recreation:

The Park & Rec. Department coordinates a wide variety of programs and services including youth sports, exercise classes, City Events and City Facility rentals.

Police Department:

The Orting Police Department provide traffic crime investigation, crime prevention, traffic enforcement and patrol services.

Public Works Department:

The Public Works Department develops, maintains, and repairs all City infrastructure, municipal water system, municipal sanitary system, storm water facility, public streets, sidewalks, irrigation, City parks, trails, buildings, and other City facilities.

Utility Billing:

The Utility Billing department is part of the finance department. Utility Billing handles water, sewer and storm bills as well as new account applications.
